Day 2, Part 1

After having a glorious night of sleep, I am ready to face my second day! I do, however, have a few things I'm changing so that I can be better prepared. Here's my list of day two changes:

1. A notepad and pen. - Even though Breanne takes the notes for my mentor, I think taking notes for myself would be helpful so that a) I can remember what we've done and b) I can be a more active participant in my day.

2. A bigger purse- Yesterday I was juggling 5 different things on my way out, so I'm thinking that a bigger purse will be necessary. Plus, both my mentor and Darlene brought reusable grocery bags with them. I'll be sure to stick a bag in my purse in case there's any more goodies I need to bring home today.

3. A folder- I guess this could go with number 1. Yesterday AuBrei (one of the women in the sensory department) gave me an article to read for a team meeting. I don't want to lose any of the things they give me, so a folder will keep everything in one place. Maybe I can find a notebook with a folder pocket in the front.....

And here are some things that worked that I am keeping the same:

1. A granola bar- I was famished on my way home yesterday, and since I didn't get to eat dinner til about nine, I was so glad to have that sustenance on my way home.

2. Umbrella- apparently it's going to rain all week, and we do change buildings so this is a must.

And one conundrum I am facing-

1. A water bottle- Since March I've been using reusable water bottles for everything. I completely gave up plastic ones in an effort to be more eco friendly and cost efficient. At McCormick, however, I don't have my own desk, or really even a permanent place to sit. Yesterday I stashed my things in my mentor's office. Because of this, I feel like it would be difficult to bring a Tervis Tumbler with water because it wouldn't have a firm place to sit. Also, they have all of these beverages for us. JoAnn (another sensory woman) brought Breanne and me each a bottle of water yesterday when we were working on our survey. (Which was so thoughtful!) I wouldn't want to be rude and decline the offer if someone is being nice like that. I realize that this probably isn't as big a deal as I'm making it, but it's something I'm going to have to figure out.
